Goshen business opens its PCs for unemployed

GOSHEN -- Premier Rental-Purchase's Goshen location will be open Sunday, but not for business.

The company will make 10 computers available to area residents to file for unemployment benefits online. This service will be offered every Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

General manager Duane Fugate said he's responding to the need he sees.

"With the current condition of our local economy, jobs are few and far between," Fugate said in a press release.

He added that unemployed people often have to stand in long lines to collect benefits. He hopes to offer another option.

Premier Rental-Purchase employees will be on hand to help navigate the unemployment Web site, troubleshoot and serve hot drinks.
