Investors shouldn't expect renewable-energy projects to make them rich quick, a Purdue University agricultural economist told an audience of about 30 at the Fort Wayne Farm Show on Wednesday.

Producing renewable energy - including wind power and ethanol fuel for cars - takes a lot of capital, and investors might wait years to see a sizable return, Otto Doering said.
