Kinro will be shifting production from Bristol to one of the Goshen plants and possibly laying off 143 workers.
The recreational vehicle industry supplier filed a notice on Nov. 5 with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development that it will be laying off the employees at the Bristol facility. However, Kinro general counsel Mike Leasor said some of the Bristol workers will be move to the plant in Goshen but specifically how many will be retained and how many will be let go is not known at this time.
The Bristol plant makes windows for RVs. Leasor said the consolidation was the result of the downturn in the RV industry.
The company, a subsidiary of Drew Industries, plans to house a maintenance operation at the Bristol plant to serve all the Kinro plants in Northern Indiana.
