Madison County jobless rate 9.2 percent for December 2008

Madison County's unemployment rate hit 9.2 percent in December 2008, which is the same rate as Anderson's metropolitan statistical area.

This is up in the county from 7.7 percent on November 2008 and from 6.9 percent in December 2007.

The U.S. rate in December 2008 stood at 7.1 percent.
