Monroe County's jobless numbers creep up for December 2008

Monroe County's unemployment numbers, though up, are still lower than the state average, according to Indiana Department of Workforce Development data released Tuesday. But Lawrence County ranks sixth-worst among Indiana's 92 counties.

The department said Indiana's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 8.2 percent in December. It was 7.1 percent in November.
