BRISTOL -- Plans are still under way to break ground on a new Ivy Tech campus near Elkhart.
Tom Snyder, president of Ivy Tech Community College in Indiana, met Wednesday with community leaders and school supporters to update them on the new campus's progress.
Snyder said construction will likely begin over the summer and take 16 to 18 months, ideally ending before the end of 2010. Snyder said 1,311 students enrolled in summer classes at the Elkhart campus in 2009, up from 669 students in 2008.
Officials announced plans to build the new campus in December. The roughly 70-acre campus will be near C.R. 17 and C.R. 18.
