Unemployment dropped in April in all but one of the 11 counties in northeast Indiana. But state officials warned that because of long summer shutdowns by automakers General Motors Corp. and Chrysler LLC, the good news is unlikely to last.
Indiana released April unemployment data Friday morning. Statewide, the non-seasonally adjusted rate dropped from 10.6 percent in March to 9.9 percent in April. It was 4.7 percent in April 2008.
