ANDERSON - Slots revenue at Hoosier Park fell slightly in November to about $2 million below a summertime high point.
The Indiana Gaming Commission reported this week that Hoosier Park's adjusted gross revenue for November was $15.1 million, about a third of a million dollars below its October draw and about $2 million under its August peak.
At the state's other racino, Indiana Live in Shelbyville, revenue was roughly flat from October to November and only slightly below its August figure.
Mark Hemmerle, general manager of Indiana Live, said he was pleased with the steady numbers while the operation continues to run out of a temporary facility. A permanent casino is expected to open in May.
Hoosier Park opened a 92,000-square-foot casino in June on Anderson's southeast side.
While overall gaming activity in Indiana is down, Hoosier Park and other sites have continued to collected millions of dollars in winnings and pay the state millions more in taxes.
"We're holding our own," said Jim Brown, Hoosier Park's general manager for gaming.
Brown attributed the November revenue decline to the month having one less day than October, but he said the economy was having an effect across the gaming industry.
"In general, these are not the best economic times, and gaming revenues throughout the state of Indiana have flattened out over the past month," he said.
