With President Barack Obama signing the economic stimulus package into law Tuesday, the city of Bloomington and the Bloomington/Monroe County Metropolitan Planning Organization have released a list of projects that could be funded by federal dollars - though it isn't clear yet how the funds will be divided at the local level.

The city's list includes infrastructure improvements estimated at $2.3 million for its certified technology park. The park encompasses more than 60 acres in an area bordered on the east by College Avenue and whose western-most boundaries lie just beyond Fairview Street. Proposed projects there include improvements for vehicle, pedestrian and bike traffic and realigning 10th Street to "conform to existing grid patterns.
