Gasoline sales tax not filling Indiana revenue shortfall

NDIANAPOLIS - Gas prices might be soaring, but that doesn't mean the state is reaping extra tax revenue.

That's because Hoosiers are cutting their consumption of gasoline - by about 67 million gallons so far this fiscal year - and choosing not to make other purchases as well.
