Bickering with Indiana's teachers union costs Hoosier schools opportunities

Indiana School Superintendent Tony Bennett gave up on Indiana's bid for $250 million in education funds from the federal government, blaming Indiana's teachers union for the early exit from phase 2 of the competition.

Bennett's inability to get teacher-union buy-in for the initiatives is common among many states that are competing for federal funds to improve schools.
