INDIANAPOLIS | State representatives are on schedule to cram three weeks of work into two, possibly ending the legislative session early.
House Speaker Patrick Bauer, D-South Bend, on Friday changed the deadline for final House votes to Feb. 25 from March 3.
The deadline for committee action in the House will be Feb. 22. The House Roads and Transportation Committee is expected to vote on an Illiana Expressway proposal that day.
The House is taking action on legislation already approved by the Senate. If the measures are not approved by the new deadlines they can no longer be considered.
Under state law, the General Assembly must adjourn by March 14.
