Indiana property tax cap vote looks likely this session

INDIANAPOLIS - The 2010 legislative session was supposed to be highlighted by a showdown over putting property tax caps into the Indiana Constitution.

But movement by House Democrats in recent weeks suggests there will be more smoke than fire.

"I'm feeling pretty good about them," Gov. Mitch Daniels said. "It appears that even those in the legislature that disagree with them are prepared to let the people decide."
