Printpack tax abatement gets preliminary approval from Monroe County

Printpack Inc. has a plan.

The company will get a $2.8 million package of tax concessions from Monroe County, and then it will immediately build a new $52 million manufacturing facility on West Vernal Pike.

The jobs of 151 employees will be secure, said Stephen Eastham, Printpack's vice president of operations. About 65 of those employees live in Monroe County. All the jobs are under threat because Printpack has said it will close its existing Bloomington-area factory.
