Beyond northern Indiana: Brevini Wind USA got a $12.8 million credit to build a plant in Yorktown in Delaware County to produce parts for wind turbine manufacturers; Vela Gear Systems in Indianapolis got $11.6 million in credits to produce wind turbine parts; and Acuity Brands in Crawfordsville got a $550,000 credit to expand its manufacturing operation to produce energy-efficient outdoor lighting products.
Timeline: The projects must be in service by 2014, but about 30 percent of them will be completed by 2010, the administration estimated.

Auburn automotive glass manufacturer Guardian Automotive Products Inc. has won $5.12 million in tax credits to retool so it can make more and better components for the solar energy industry.
The Obama administration announced the award Friday as part of a $2.3 billion package of tax credits intended to create "clean-tech" manufacturing jobs.
