The Indiana Department of Transportation has awarded a $90 million contract to Gohmann Asphalt and Construction of Clarksville for construction of 6.5 miles of Interstate 69 in Section 4. The route extends from Harmony Road in Monroe County to Carmichael Road in Greene County and includes an interchange at the county line.

The contract was the first awarded for I-69 workin Monroe County, said INDOT spokeswoman Cher Elliott. Gohmann was selected from 10 contractors who submitted bids, according to a press release from INDOT.

The interchange will provide access to a connector road to Ind. 445 in Greene County, which is being constructed by Milestone as part of a previously awarded contract, Elliott said.
