The Olive B. Cole Foundation will commit $1 million in matching funds for projects undertaken as part of the state's Regional Cities Initiative.
"We've been watching with great interest over the last few weeks the development of the Northeast Indiana Regional Development Authority in pursuit of the Regional Cities Initiative funding," Mac Parker, president of the Cole Foundation, said in a statement. "The Foundation has had a long-standing interest in regional collaboration and has made numerous grants over the years to assist with this endeavor."
The Regional Cities Initiative gives Indiana regions the chance to compete for up to $42 million in state matching funds for capital projects. To be eligible, regions must submit proposals containing a comprehensive list of quality of life projects aimed at attracting and retaining young talent.
