INDIANAPOLIS – Gov. Mike Pence applauded two pieces of legislation Monday that focus on worker skills.

In a ceremonial event, he signed Senate Bill 465 and House Bill 1002 before legislative leaders and more than 100 other guests.

Pence pushed the Senate legislation as part of his campaign for governor. It creates regional councils to assess career, technical and vocational opportunities for high school students. Then each council can create a local curriculum.
