A Cleveland, Ohio, company wants to build a 108-unit multifamily residential development on the site of the Southern Winds Inn on South Walnut Street.
The plan, proposed by the NRP Group, is to clear the 5.33 acre property of all buildings except for a two-story limestone structure that would be renovated as a clubhouse for the new apartment complex. There would be five, three-story buildings of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment units.
Aaron M. Pechota, vice president of development for NRP, said the company’s investment would be in excess of $10 million. He said the development would be constructed as “affordable housing” utilizing low-income housing tax credits to finance construction.
