A Benton County family-operated business won’t drive truckloads of families searching for a perfect pumpkin to their pastures this year.

Millennium Farms of Oxford is going out of business after 10 years, leaving one less fall activity for people near and far. The patch frequently drew visitors from nearby states.

“It just brings me to tears to see what we meant to this community,” said Dawn Schakel, who owned the business with her husband, Chris. “We want to thank everyone for making family memories here, for not only them, but for us and our children.”
