GOSHEN — Elkhart County’s housing market remains on a roll, again making the list of improving housing markets across the country.

The county was one of 255 metro areas on July’s National Association of Home Builders/First American “Improving Markets Index” released Monday, July 8.

According to the report, building permits in Elkhart County are up 3 percent since bottoming out in April 2009. Home prices are up 4.7 percent since they bottomed out in February,2012, while employment has grown by 21.4 percent since its trough in June 2009. The continued growth in those three areas keeps putting this area on the improving markets list month after month.
