Monroe County area unemployment inches up in February 2009

The unemployment rate crept up in Monroe County in the month of February, according to figures released by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development Friday.

The county's unemployment rate came in at 6.7 percent, up from 6 percent in January. That figure makes Monroe the county with the third-lowest unemployment in Indiana.
