Indiana Department of Transportation officials are studying four alternative designs for Section 5 of I-69, which follows Ind. 37 from Victor Pike south of Bloomington to Ind. 39 in Morgan County, a 21-mile stretch.
They’re planning a public information meeting on Tuesday, April 24, at the Monroe County Fairgrounds Auditorium, 5700 W. Airport Road, to review preliminary designs and access roads. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and a presentation on the purpose and need statement and screening of alternatives report will begin at 6:30, to be followed by a public comment session.
“This portion of I-69 involves upgrading an existing roadway. We are particularly interested in hearing public comments on proposed access alternatives,” said Samuel Sarvis, INDOT deputy commissioner of major programs, in a news release. “We have some important decisions to make in the coming months. Public comment and input from local officials will be used to shape those decisions.”
