Foreclosure filings up in Allen County

More Allen County residents are struggling to hold on to their homes as the subprime mortgage crisis worsens.

Allen Circuit and Superior courts received 23 percent more foreclosure filings during the first half of this year compared with the same period in 2006. Mortgage lenders filed 1,351 cases between January and June. That was up from 1,094 foreclosure cases filed during the first six months of 2006.
