Four northeast Indiana counties have been cleared from having to reassess property values because of related problems, state officials said Thursday.

Allen, Noble, DeKalb and Kosciusko were among nine counties statewide cleared from a forced reassessment of property, said Cheryl Musgrave, commissioner of the Indiana Department of Local Government Finance. The property values served as the basis for 2007 tax bills, which saw an average increase of 24 percent across the state.
