Another gaming company wants to remain part of the discussion of gambling in Fort Wayne. Anderson-based Hoosier Park Racing and Casino, which operates an off-track betting facility in Fort Wayne, had contemplated moving up to 500 slot machines here from its horse-racing track.

A bill allowing the slot-machine transfers was filed during the legislative session earlier this year, but did not move out of committee.

Susan Kilkenny, spokeswoman for Hoosier Park owner Centaur Gaming LLC, said the company remains interested in the Fort Wayne area.

"Because Fort Wayne is an extremely valuable market for us, we are absolutely interested in any gaming activities in northeast Indiana," Kilkenny said in an e-mailed statement. "We would want to be a part of any future dialogue impacting Fort Wayne."
