Gambling critics fuel Fort Wayne mayor's push for citywide vote

Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry reinforced his desire for a gambling referendum Tuesday, a day after the Allen County commissioners and various business leaders came out against the effort.

"On an issue of this magnitude, the public should be allowed to speak. On a topic of so much significance, it is the judgment of the people of Fort Wayne that I trust," the mayor said in a prepared statement released Tuesday.
