July 2009 unemployment numbers level off in south central Indiana

Unemployment rates in Monroe County and throughout Indiana showed little change in July, with both dropping a tenth of a percentage point from June.

The county's rate is now 6.9 percent, and the state's rate is 10.6 percent. The decreases are not considered statistically significant.
