ANDERSON -- Residents from 24 counties met over the weekend to devise strategies to restrict concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs) in Indiana.

"The only reason the CAFO industry is coming to Indiana is that they can pollute easier here than they can anyplace else," said Idaho economist William Weida, director of GRACE Factory Farm Campaign. "If you have any delusions that it's for any other reason, like they like shopping in downtown Indianapolis or something like that, you need to talk to me at greater length. Because there is no evidence that they move for any reason other than pollution shopping."
