Jay County may get second ethanol plant

One of the country’s largest ethanol producers announced plans Thursday to build a $175 million plant in Jay County.

The Broin Companies intends to build an ethanol plant in Portland, the company said in a prepared statement Thursday. The plant would produce up to 120 million gallons of ethanol a year and employ 40.
