The Indiana Department of Transportation has taken two swings in its effort to have Interstate 69 construction money put back into a local transporation plan.

Votes on I-69 construction dollars were taken Thursday by the Technical Advisory Committee and the Citizens Advisory Committee of the Bloomington/Monroe County Metropolitan Planning Organization.

The technical committee, composed of various city and county planners and department heads, voted to recommend adding $32 million in I-69 construction costs into the MPO’s Transportation Improvement Program for fiscal years 2010-2013, as well as to the plan for fiscal years 2012-2015.
