Adams County wrong to approve hog operation, court rules

NDIANAPOLIS - The Indiana Court of Appeals ruled Wednesday that the Adams County Plan Commission incorrectly issued a permit to a local hog farmer.

But it is unclear what effect the ruling will have because the confined feeding facility is already in operation.

At issue is Jonas Hilty's 2006 application to the plan commission to construct a hog-finishing facility capable of holding 1,000 hogs at a time.
