WASHINGTON — Enrollment experts will be fanning out to Ivy Tech Community College campuses to help students sign up for health insurance through the new federal exchange that opens Tuesday.
Hospitals and community health centers are getting their staffs ready to explain to patients how they might benefit from the major changes coming under the 2010 Affordable Care Act, commonly referred to as Obamacare.
And librarians across the state are preparing to help patrons use their computers to find out about the new coverage options.
Outreach and assistance are expected to be critical to the success of the exchanges — also known as a health marketplace — which is the main way the health care law aims to expand insurance to millions more Americans.
More than 800,000 Hoosiers lack insurance.
