Fort Wayne Community Schools this week handed pink slips to assistant principals at each of its high schools, as well as to the principals at North Side and South Side, the school board president confirmed Wednesday.
The 22 administrators at the six high schools will keep their jobs through the end of the school year but must reapply to newly defined positions if they want to remain in the district, said Mark GiaQuinta, FWCS board president.
Fort Wayne Community schools officials made the cuts as part of the district's high school reinvention and to make the district eligible and attractive for federal stimulus money, which requires districts to overhaul struggling schools.
