Fewer Hoosiers smoke; state ranks 9th for deaths

Recent government studies on smoking and smoking deaths don't paint a great picture for Indiana, but the news isn't all dire.

Although the state ranks high in deaths related to lighting up, data indicate that the number of smokers statewide is on the decline, which is proving to be good news for local anti-smoking advocates.
