Please conserve water. That’s what City of Bloomington Utilities director Patrick Murphy is asking of all CBU customers — including the city government departments.

The problem isn’t Lake Monroe, which is just shy of its normal level.

The problem is that the pumps that move water from the lake to the treatment plant and on to customers are running at capacity all day and most of the night because of high demand for water. And they’re running hot.
