Enrollment at Ivy Tech Community College Columbus is up 47 percent compared to last fall, topping 5,000 students on the first day of classes Monday.
The Columbus campus' headcount totaled 5,028.
The college has experienced booming growth for more than four years - last fall announcing a then-record enrollment increase of 18 percent, or 3,428 students.
The Columbus region serves students from Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Jennings and part of southern Johnson counties.
The region's growth is outpacing Ivy Tech's overall statewide enrollment, which increased nearly 29 percent from a year ago, for a total of 110,359 students.
Each of Ivy Tech's 14 regions reported increased enrollments.
