Vincennes University enrollment is up, way up, almost 14 percent system wide, faculty and staff learned this week at the annual "Welcome Back to Campus" meeting.
While most of the increase is on the regional sites, on the main campus here total enrollment topped the 5,000 mark for the first time in more than a decade. The number of students attending classes here stands at 5,003, the most since 1997.
Director of External Relations Kristi Deetz said that the residence halls are reporting an increase this semester, with 2,057 students staying on campus, an increase of 100 students over last year.
Deetz said that the total enrollment for all VU campuses stands right now at 6,884 students, 831 more than last year.
Classes begin on Monday.
