Fall enrollment at the University of Southern Indiana is an all-time high.

The official figure released today, 10,516, eclipsed last year's total of 10,126. Included in the total enrollment are 9,648 undergraduate students. Seventy-seven percent of students are full-time, while 24 percent are students over 25 years of age.

University spokeswoman Kathy Funke said USI freshmen of traditional age had an average high school grade-point average of 3.0. Four percent of the freshman class qualified automatically for the USI honors program.

Transfer students increased by 23 percent from last fall. One in every seven transfers came from Ivy Tech, Funke said.

USI's ROTC program has 60 cadets, 25 of whom are freshmen.

Students who are military veterans increased 20 percent. About 10 percent of USI's student body consist of minority and international students. Sixty percent of USI students are female.

USI has students from 91 of Indiana's 92 counties, 42 states and 63 countries.
