The gain was only 2.2 percent for August RV shipments compared with August of 2012.
But that is no cause for alarm, says Matt Rose, director of recreational vehicles for the Indiana Manufactured Housing Association-Recreation Vehicle Indiana Council.
For the year, shipments are 11.8 percent above last year with 226,125 shipped, according to the Reston, Va.-based Recreation Vehicle Industry Association. The RVIA released the monthly shipment numbers for August on Monday.
"RV consumer sentiment remains high," Rose said. "This would make it the 20th straight month that RV shipments have surpassed the same month for the year prior."
