WINCHESTER --Two North Carolina residents, one a former hog farmer, the other a former riverkeeper, warned Randolph County residents that they must remain vigilant in their fight for local control over factory farms to keep the smells and pollution at bay.
Environmentally Concerned Citizens of Randolph County invited Don Webb, the former farmer, and Rick Dove, the former riverkeeper, to Winchester this week for a public discussion with those fighting the local influx of concentrated animal feeding operations (CAFOs.) The men also met privately with local farmers before the Thursday night public session.
