Eleven Madison Consolidated Schools teachers are losing their jobs because of a reduction in force attributed to less money coming to the schools from the state. Twelve non-teaching jobs were cut last month.

Two teachers who had been on the reduction-in-force list have been hired back.

The school board approved the reduction-in-force list Wednesday. The board also approved transfers of teachers from Canaan Elementary, which the board has voted to close, to other elementary schools.
