MUNCIE — Layoffs at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital are a little deeper than officials originally announced.
As part of statewide job cuts, 120 people are being laid off at IU Health’s Muncie hospital. The health care organization originally forecast 100 cuts locally when layoffs were announced in mid-September. Layoff notices were to begin this week.
The increased number was reported to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development in a notice of pending workforce reduction received by the state on Tuesday. The number of jobs to be cut locally was confirmed to The Star Press by IU Health on Wednesday.
