A Purdue University committee has been named to pinpoint expendable costs on the West Lafayette campus.

Purdue has a self-imposed goal, announced in November, to identify $30 million to trim from its general fund budget by summer 2010. That's in addition to cutting its share of $150 million in state appropriations that Gov. Mitch Daniels last week said Indiana's seven public institutions won't get in the next 18 months.
