Facing an impending budget deficit of $30 million on campus, Purdue University administrators three weeks ago asked the campus community for advice on where to find savings.

Boy, have they gotten responses.

Since Nov. 20, more than 700 responses have been submitted via a Purdue Web site. Recommendations range from terse calls for salary reductions at the top to detailed pleas for greater energy conservation measures.
