There's one very good reason Ivy Tech Community College has now become the largest university system in Indiana, surpassing Indiana University. It is the most affordable.
The recently released biennial report by the National Center for Public Policy and Higher Education gave Indiana an F in college affordability. While every other state except California also flunked that category, it is especially troublesome for Hoosiers because only 23 percent of adults have a bachelor's degree. This is well below the national average and actually harmful to Indiana's struggling economy.
