Isolated, resigned boos greeted the vote at 9:24 p.m. Friday as the MCCSC board unanimously adopted budget cuts totaling $5.8 million annually, almost exactly as proposed earlier this month.
There were a couple of minor fiscal adjustments, such as where to list extracurricular expenditures. But the cuts were unchanged. About 75 certified staff, mostly teachers, are slated to lose jobs.
After the meeting, Superintendent J.T. Coopman supplied a bit of news in identifying Bloomington High School North as the existing facility slated to house Aurora Alternative High School, which will lose its own building if the approved cuts are implemented.
