Tourism has an impact, although it can be hard to measure in Delaware County

MUNCIE -- With the economy in recession and unemployment high, communities around the nation are increasingly hoping that tourism -- visitors attending events and spending their money on local hotel rooms, meals and shopping -- will fatten their bottom lines.

But tourism's impact can be hard to define, particularly on Muncie and Delaware County, where there's no known list of the community's top attractions and the number of visitors they attract.
