Thousands wait in line for interview with Progress Rail

MUNCIE -- Ernest Fitzpatrick said Saturday he believed he would be a good employee for Progress Rail Services' Muncie locomotive plant.

"I have experience with just about everything," Fitzpatrick said. "Handling materials, driving a forklift."

Asked what job he hoped he might get as a result of attending Saturday's Progress Rail job fair, he replied, "Anything."

Fitzpatrick, from Anderson, was one of thousands of jobseekers who turned out for the job fair, held in the Horizon Convention Center.
